So this is the only kind of spider I am going to post.
This is an Assassin fly. This is also a repost from earlier but with updated info. My wife took pictures of this with a Samsung Galaxy S3. She said she got close enough to tap the thing with the back of her phone.
She's nuts.

If there were like a x100 favorite button available, I'd have clicked it.

3 nights ago I went downstairs at 11 at night to find a large fishing spider on the bottom step.
This is a fishing spider:

When I was growing up in Florida on three separate occasions we got 3 different banana spiders in our house. I would chase them with a broom stick while my mom had a gallon of bugspray. Those frickin things crawl faster than I can run and they act like they drink bug spray.
This is a banana spider.

One of those landed on my bed, once. It flew away when I started calmly taking pictures so I could email someone in a panic to try to figure out what it was.
Those...those mouth-parts...D:

I still have not seen one in person and today it the first time either of us has ever even heard of them. It's like that joke
God, if you're so great why'd you make bees?
It's alright I'll make something to take care of the bees.
ten minutes later
I will call them Assassin Flies.

And, while non-poisonous, their bite hurts like a bitch. I was off-roading in my Jeep with the top and doors off in South Carolina, and when I was done I had a nice drive back to Charleston. About half way back, I felt something drop onto my lap. It was a freaking Banana Spider. Once I got to a stoplight, I literally got out of my car in the middle of the road, pissed my pants, knocked the spider off, and ran away. Top 5 scariest moments of my life, especially since I didn't know they weren't poisonous at the time.

Well, I just woke up and my brain decided it was a good idea to put that thing in my dreams. I dreamt these were starting to make nests in houses, people were scared. Great night.

I'm sorry. I share because I care. Also it helps make me less freaked out if I spread it around.

Oh boy I remember those bad boys. There were several that had webs around a house in Hilton Head my parents used to rent back when I was in elementary school. I remember thinking they were the coolest shit ever and wishing we had more of them inland.

I don't have any issues with spiders (but I do hate Targa 911s). Today I even helped one little fellow to get out from our office.
We don't have any dangerous or even very intimidating looking spiders in Finland. The most poisonous one (diving bell spider) is equivalent to a wasp but that species lives mostly underwater and bites vary rarely.

Our American spiders mock your tiny swimming Finnish spiders.

Those spiders look pretty intimidating but black widow and brown recluse spider sound a lot more worse guys to get bitten by.

They are. One time at Scout camp (I already know what you're thinking, can it.) one kid slept on a cot with a black widow nest underneath it for the whole week and didn't even know it until it was time to leave for the week and we had to flip our cots over. We set the cot on fire.
